Youth & Community

Live Oak Livestock Auction in Three Rivers is proud to support the youth and families who represent the future of agriculture in South Texas. The barn stands behind local 4-H and FFA exhibitors, county fair auctions, and youth rodeo events throughout the region, helping provide opportunities for young people to learn responsibility, work ethic, and the value of good livestock. Whether it’s promoting youth sales, supporting buyers’ groups, or helping with special events, Live Oak is always willing to step in where it’s needed to back the kids and the programs that shape them.

The barn also takes part in the South Texas Cattleman’s Round-Up, helping raise support for Driscoll Children’s Hospital. These efforts bring the livestock community together for a good cause while giving young people a chance to see firsthand what this industry is built on—hard work, generosity, and neighbors helping neighbors.

Each April, Live Oak Livestock Auction hosts the Live Oak County Commercial Heifer Show, where local youth have the opportunity to exhibit their replacement heifers and then sell them through the auction. It’s a great opportunity for kids to gain real-world experience, learn the value of quality livestock, and step into the commercial side of the cattle business. If you would like to be a part of the April heifer show and sale, please reach out to the barn or stay tuned for the official announcement. It’s a strong program and a great opportunity for the kids.

At the heart of it all is a simple belief — when you invest in the youth, you invest in the future of agriculture and the strength of the community.
